Entre o global e o local: breve reflexão sobre os desafios da educação em e para os direitos humanos

Abstract

RESUMO: Se internacionalmente as promessas dos direitos humanos são mais visíveis, é no plano do local e do regional que tais promessas são mais difíceis de se cumprirem. Apesar de ser um dos primeiros países a adotar as recomendações da Conferência Mundial de Viena (1993), e ter lançado três edições do Plano Nacional de Direitos Humanos (1996, 2002 e 2009), além do Plano Nacional de Educação em Direitos Humanos (2003), no Brasil ainda é comum a violação de muitos desses direitos. O objetivo desta breve reflexão é compreender os avanços e obstáculos para uma educação ‘em’ e ‘para’ os direitos humanos. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT: In the international system Human Rights promises are a more visible preoccupation, but in the regional and local arenas such promises lack this visibility and are more difficult to be fulfilled. Although Brazil was one of the first countries to adopt the recommendations of the Vienna World Conference (1993) and have launched three editions of a National Plan on Human Rights (1996, 2002 and 2009), and also a National Plan for Education on Human Rights in 2003, Brazil is still a country where the violation of such rights is common place. The objective of this brief reflection is to understand the advances and the obstacles for the process of education ‘on’ and ‘for’ the Human Rights.
